Newlands Community House – Emergency Food Support

While the Newlands Community Centre is closed due to the severe weather event in February, the NCH Foodbank is still operating!  We’re just operating from an alternative location for the time being. The Foodbank is currently operating on reduced hours – Mondays and Thursdays only. We hope to be back up and running from NCH in May 2026. For the latest updates please visit our Facebook page

REQUEST A FOOD PARCEL

Requests for food support can be emailed throughout the week, but please submit by 9:00am Monday for Monday collections or 9:00am Thursday for Thursday collections so parcels can be prepared in time. A coordinator will be in touch to confirm your pick-up date and location.

Enter “Food Support” in the subject line and provide your details with the following:

Your name, address and contact phone number​.

Number of people in your household​.

Ages and genders of everyone in your household.

Any dietary requirements (Gluten, Dairy etc).

Collections are at 2:30pm from Nga Hau e Wha o Papararangi Marae, 60 Ladbrooke Drive, Woodridge. Please ensure you arrive on time, as our volunteers are unable to wait beyond 2:45pm. Sorry, we cannot deliver.

 

We also cannot store items for later collection, as storage and refrigeration capacity is currently limited.

Please be aware that if you miss your collection, we will be unable to provide further support until the following month.

Photo ID and proof of residence are required upon collection.

 

ELIGIBILITY

We provide up to 12 emergency food parcels per year to residents of Woodridge, Grenada Village, Newlands, and Paparangi. ​Clients are eligible to receive support from one partner agency per calendar month only. ​If support has already been received from another agency within the current month, further assistance is not available.​

We are a registered charity (CC21969) so donations over $5 are eligible for the 33% tax rebate. Please contact us if you require a receipt.
