HOW TO APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE
FOOD PARCELS
If you are in need of food assistance, please visit our Directory to find a foodbank in your local area and contact them directly to apply for a food parcel. Each foodbank has its own application critera so it is best to call first.
PLEASE NOTE: We don't issue food parcels through our website.
Note: All foodbanks are closed during the weekends and public holidays unless otherwise stated. The majority of foodbanks in NZ do not deliver so you will need to arrange transport. We suggest you bring your own shopping bags too.
Please bring your Photo ID and Proof of Address such as a power bill or other document in your name to your appointment. You may need to supply a referral from Work & Income or other social agency/provider.
If you are working or in receipt of a benefit, please call Work&Income on 0800 559 009 to check if you are entitled to any food assistance first. You may also be entitled to accommodation or temporary additional support if you meet certain criteria.
